I made
this using a piece of tartan I had left over from another
project actually I made this book completely over left overs
from other projects so it was free for me to make! Any kind
of material can be used but I think it would be nice to
use a traditional material from your culture.
Materials
Needed
12
of ¼ ribbon
60 by 10 piece of light weight tartan or other
material
Glue gun
Glue sticks
Scissors
Ruler
Exactor knife or paper cutter
20 sheets of card stock, to match your material
2 pieces of sturdy cardboard
Hole punch
Gel pen (optional)
Instructions
1.
Cut the card board in to two 8 ½ by 5
pieces
2. Cut the cardstock in to 8 by 4 pieces, using
a paper cutter is easiest but a steady hand, ruler and an
exacto knife work well too. Each sheet of card stock makes
2 pages, for a total of 40 pages. If you want add lines
using a gel pen for guests to sign on or you can leave the
pages blank to encourage them to leave longer notes.
Paper
& Cardboard
3. Punch
holes 1 from the top and one inch from the bottom
of the pages. Thread ribbon through the holes and tie in
a small knot, leave the tails for page markers.
4. Spread out the material and center the pieces of cardboard
on it leave a ¼ gap between them.
5. Fold the extra material at the bottom of the cardboard
over it. At the corners of the cardboard cut on the diagonal,
also cut along the edges of the gap between the cardboard
pieces. Using the hot glue attaché these cut flaps
to the cardboard; youll need to trim at the diagonal
cuts to get them to lie smoothly. See diagram for cutting
instructions.

6. Take
the excess material at the ends and fold the raw edges inward
then pull over the exposed cardboard and glue down. Repeat
for both sides.
7. Take the pages and run a few thin lines of glue on the
back of the last page, press on to the inside of the cover,
make sure the ribbon tails are hanging out.

The
finished product!

All
in all this craft took me about 3/4th of an hour to do and
Im very pleased with the results. I think it would
look nice done with any lightweight material to match your
weddings theme. Although I had all the supplies around the
house it wouldnt cost much to make card stock, ribbon,
glue and the little bit of material you need can all be
found cheaply.
